Henri Brian Colenbrander
(1911-1974)
In World War II he volunteered and joined the South African Air Force. He served as a navigator in the Coastal Command (Natal and Zululand) in the Middle East and in 1944/1945 in Gibraltar and Italy. He made the rank of Captain and in 1945 received the Distinguished Flying Cross for ‘gallantry and devotion to duty in the execution of air operations’.
